Prospects

If you want to get ahead in this business, you’re best to talk to people who already believe in network marketing.

In my last post on attracting MLM leads, I briefly talked about target marketing and why your best prospects are other network marketers.

People who believe in network marketing are not going to question you, chastise you, or be negative toward you for building a home based business.

If anything, they are just as committed to their own personal development, and learning new skills to build their business. They are the right group of people for you to “hang out” with.

Actually, most of them are looking for answers on how to become more successful in their own business, and this is where you can get their attention. [click to continue…]

On a recent training call, one of my mentors spoke of a gentleman whose business keeps falling apart. He builds it up, then it falls away. He builds it up, then it falls away. He was baffled as to why this was happening. The company had a great product, and he a great marketing and training system that allowed him to work with targeted prospects.

He couldn’t understand why the people who had dreams of become of being financially free would quit the business. So he picked up the phone and asked each of his former distributors about why they quit. The number one answer he got from his people was, the product is too expensive.

Hardly anybody in his downline could sell the product to end consumers, or break even on their own autoship orders. It’s pretty hard to retain people when they’re not making money. Understanding what the problem was, he expressed his concerns about the price of the product to the company. [click to continue…]

The Best Source of Fresh MLM Leads

in Targeted MLM Leads

Leads. Are they the live blood of your MLM business? Some uplines will tell you that they are, but are they really? My take on it is NO, they are not. In fact, I think it’s a lie. CASH FLOW is the life blood of your business. Without cash, you are out of business.

But to get cash flow, you need to sponsor people into your downline who regularly purchase product and sponsor other people who regularly purchase product. In order to sponsor people, you need prospects who want to join your business. In order to get these prospects, you need to call people who’ve volunteered to give you their contact information – that is, leads.

Therefore, leads are actually 3 steps away from what you really need to keep your business going and thriving. But somehow, the heavy hitters have convinced you that you need leads, leads, leads. And the easiest way for them to make a quick buck is to sell you a ton worthless leads. [click to continue…]

Is it a good idea to be distributor for more than one MLM company? Logic would suggest that it is.

Today there are many network marketing companies that fail. Some companies are illegal and are shut down by the Government. Some companies must go through massive restructuring to survive. Just last week, a publically traded company terminated it’s MLM pay plan in favour of direct sales because it couldn’t afford to pay both the investors and the distributors at the same time.

Some network marketing company owners just plain have no integrity. They start out as a network marketing company to save money on advertising and get all of their distributors to take the risk in putting their name out there. Once they have enough customers, they just terminate the pay plan when they feel like it. Trust me, this has happened. [click to continue…]

Ninety-seven percent of networkers are destined for failure BEFORE they even start building their home based businesses. With no training on marketing and prospect psychology, without any clue on how to do this business, they are literally told to start burning bridges around them.

In my first network marketing company, there was no training on how to connect with prospects. It was all about inviting people you know to a meeting, showing them “the plan” and telling them you have access to the best products in the world and closing them with “grab your spot now because somebody who joins after you might EXPLODE and you’d hate to miss out on that wouldn’t you?”

It was all about tell, tell, tell. The formula was 15 plans a month. Here are some of the catch phrases that I can recall from listening to the CDs. “We’re looking for 15 planners!”, “If you’re not showing 15 plans a month, this is not a real busiess, it’s a toy!”, “I’d rather work with someone who shows 15 plans a month and signs up nobody than someone who shows only 2 plans and gets 2 signups.” [click to continue…]

You can’t build a network marketing business without building relationships first. It has always been and always will be about relationships. Many companies have come into this industry and exploded because they had a revolutionary product. But often, their businesses died just as quickly because they didn’t care enough about their people.

Retention is the one and only key to making a lifetime of residual income. You can’t build this business by putting 100 people in at the start of the year and only having 6 left at the end of the year, that’s not sustainable.

With every single person you sponsor, you must have the mindset that they are going to be your business partners/associates forever. And that means becoming good friends with your prospect. [click to continue…]
