The Brain - A Phenomenal Gift
The Brain is the most amazing gift given to us by God, or the Universe, or our Creator. The mental capacity of the brain is just unfathomable.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with an owners manual, and for that, most people will only scratch the surface of their true potential.
I’m beginning to realize it’s power. But this wouldn’t be if I didn’t grasp the importance of daily personal development.
The brain is like money. If you don’t have a plan for it, someone else does, and they will take advantage of it. [click to continue…]
The Subconscious Mind: The Connecting Link between Dreams and Reality
Like my good friend Oliver Tausend, I am participating in a Mentoring For Free Mastermind Group which studies Napoleon Hill’s Think & Grow Rich, chapter by chapter, everyweek. Here’s my thought’s on Chapter 12.
The subtitle of this chapter is The Connecting Link.
The subconscious mind is the connecting link between the un-manifest and the manifest, much like how a radio tunes into the radio waves that we can’t see or feel into sounds that we can hear.
As I grow, I’m becoming more and more aware of the negative thoughts that pop into my head from time to time. I wasn’t even aware I was thinking negatively before. [click to continue…]
A short while ago, I was chit chatting with a friend of a friend at a party. A really cool guy, just completed a Ph.D! But… could NOT land a job.
So he decided to apply for some labour jobs stacking shelves at a supermarket while he waited for a position to become available.
Can you imagine that? A Ph.D. graduate working at a supermarket??!! There is something very wrong with that picture.
This is exactly what the industrial age education complex has trained every human to do. Go to school, get a degree, and then get a J.O.B.
It’s crystal clear to me now. We’ve never been truly taught HOW to think, only WHAT to think. Think about that… [click to continue…]
I’ve read from a lot of self help authors that success in 90% mindset and only 10% strategy. Many of them have said we can change our lives just by changing our thoughts.
There’s no doubt about the mental transformations that are required for success. In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill dedicates an entire chapter to the power of the subconscious mind.
Everything we have on the outside, our possessions, the amount of money we have in our bank accounts, our friends, and everything we do and say are a direct reflection of who we are on the inside.
People will blame external events, circumstances and other people for what happens to them, but their reality is a manifestation of their own thoughts.
And therefore, in order change our reality, we have to change our thoughts. [click to continue…]
In Chapter 10 of his famous book, “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill writes about the Power of the Mastermind. A mastermind, is more than the sum of its parts. Every achievement of significance in the history of the world has been the fruition of a mastermind group, from the founding of the United States to Google’s dominance of the internet.
When I was a mechanical engineering student, I took a course in Thermodynamics. Thermodynamics is the study of energy and how it converts from one form to another, mainly from heat to mechanical work and vice versa. One of the units in this course was a brief study of nuclear energy.
The thing that fascinated me about this topic was how a nucleus of an atom, which consists of protons and neutrons bound together by a powerful force, has a different mass than all of the individual protons and neutrons that make it up. When the nucleus of an atom is split, this extra mass is converted into an enormous amount of energy via Einstein’s famous equation E = mc2. [click to continue…]
Do you know the reason why most people don’t own their lives? The reason why they just mindlessly go to their day jobs every morning and park themselves in front of the mind-numbing television every evening? It’s because they’ve never made a decision to own their lives.
Some people go to work because they have to. They have mortgages and bills to pay. Others just go because heaps of other people are doing it. Very few do it because they love it. Most people just don’t make the important life decisions and because of that, the most important decisions are made for them.
Rarely do people work at careers truly of their own choosing. Most people work at their jobs because it was the first place hiring! They say “Oh well, it’s not really the job I want but they’re offering me a good package with benefits, so I’ll take it until I find my ideal career” They rarely do, such is their lack of self worth.
