Think & Grow Rich Chapter 4 – Auto Suggestion

Auto Suggestion

Program Your Subconscious with Auto Suggestion

In the recent months I have began to believe in the power of self-talk.

When I first started to do it, I felt ridiculous, I felt uncomfortable.

I know now that it was my mind arguing with the spoken words. Or I now like to put it, it was the ego getting in the way.

The mind was telling me “Yeah right, dream on!” when I spoke the words…

“I am the greatest networker in the world!”

Well, I can’t let the mind self-sabotage my efforts to build one of the largest and most profitable organisations in the profession of Network Marketing.

We all know the subconscious mind will accept any message that is given to it. It will draw upon its connection with Infinite Intelligence to bring forth the necessary resources to manifest reality from our dominant thoughts.

But the mind is the gatekeeper. It decides what messages get passed onto the subconscious mind.

Unfortunately, it never shuts up. As it guards the gate to infinite intelligence, it’s always blurting out useless crap that is of no service to us.

We must actively work to tame it, to silence it, to be in control of it.

So I realise now why meditating in silence and saying my self-talk everyday with feeling is so important for the manifestation of my dreams.

Thank you to this wonderful Mentoring For Free Mastermind for guiding me on my path of personal and spiritual growth.

To your MLM success,

Wayne Wu

Wayne – I have read “Think and Grow Rich”, and I think the chapter on autosuggestion is great. But I too felt uncomfortable and even stupid when I first started practicing self talk.

I agree that we must learn how to control our minds in order for self talk to truly cement what we want in our subconscious mind. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Wayne,

It seems that the world practice self-effacement, by how people think, but how wonderful that we do not have to wait a single second to helping making the world better.

Hi Wayne,

I love your self-talk, congratulations. I love the “objection” of your gatekeeper as well. What is wrong with “Dream on…” ? I think it’s awesome advice ;-)

So keep dreaming and make sure your dreams put on work clothes, as someone said. I have no doubt that you are doing that, aren’t you ?

Thanks for sharing your lesson !

Take care

Nice understanding Wayne…

This is such an important topic, not just for Success in our lives, but also for basic sanity and peace. Until we reach some degree of freedom from the mind, we exist in a kind of agitated, neurotic state, even if we don’t realize it…

Stepping back from our thoughts and realizing that they are not who we really are enables us not only to experience more basic peace, but also to redirect our thinking through techniques such as auto-suggestion. It’s wonderfully powerful!

You’re absolutely right that actively working to tame and control the mind is an essential task.

Thanks for this poignant post with profound implications!

All the best,

Hey Wayne, it really is about the message you give the mind. I believe it will accept whatever you give it, be it positive or negative.

In the face of despair or worry, it’s easy to be negative, but you have to condition yourself to keep that negativity away. It can be hard at first but it improves with practice, at least it has for me :-)

Hey Wayne

I have been self-talking for years :)

The idea is to stop those negative thoughts in their tracks and to have the confidence to take action.

Good stuff Wayne

Hi Wayne,

I felt the same way with the self talk when I first started it. It was so bizarre to me, but I bought some cd’s with self talk on them, and started listening to them on my mp3 player as I fell asleep and as I was getting up in the morning. I found that they really worked and my mindset started to change rather quickly.

I also went through a blueprinting process where I had my own goals, dreams, and vision recorded for me in a personalized mp3 file that I could listen to. It included relaxation and meditation stuff in the beginning to help me get into an alpha state. I loved it, and as my goals changed, started recording my own blueprints to listen to, in my own voice.

It’s fun, after you let go of the thoughts of it being weird and start to think about it as programming your mind.

I’m a firm believer that self talk works!

Wayne,

Thanks for sharing.

I have to agree with you about that gatekeeper and the how it lets things get by that shouldn’t. The key is to control, once in a while something
tends to get through but if you have total control, it makes things easier.

Oh wow Wayne,

I love this statement because it’s loaded with truth and shows our human vulnerability, “the mind is the gatekeeper… unfortunately it never shuts up…”

It’s so important to do as you suggest and actively take control of it.

Thank you for sharing your insights!

You are right about that self talk is really important to make ourselves ready and motivated to do what you wanted. It is important that each day you should process the ideas that comes into your mind so that the effects should be effective or even successful. Our mind never stops thinking and every ideas that pops up are important that we should take control of it.

Self-talking is a craft that takes time and descipline to master. Subconsious mind cannot say what is true or fake and it believes whatever you tell it. People have achieved unbelievable things by doing this. Thanks for bringing it up!

I do believe in self talk, but keep in mind as Jim Rohn used to say “Self talk without action is the beginning of delusion”

Just a thought ;-)

And they said that you are crazy if you talk to yourself. Self-talk can do a lot for you. It’s just like sowing good words seed to your life. It’s part of being positive. Change what you say to change your negative thinking.
