Think & Grow Rich Chapter 3 – Faith

Magnetizing a Nail

Developing Faith is like Magnetizing a Nail

In the 30 Day Mental Cleanse Mastermind (www.30DayCleanse.com), I’m studying Napoleon Hill’s Think & Grow Rich, chapter by chapter, every week. Here are my thoughts in Chapter 3…

I‘m no longer afraid to admit that I have lied to myself in the past and I still do. I think that is one of the hallmarks of having faith – you are no longer afraid of the truth.

For instance, I realize now that when I first started in Network Marketing, I was afraid to approach people about my business because I was feared rejection and failure.

I deceived myself by thinking I could build this business a lot faster than the time tested and proven ways by promoting myself online, because at about that time I had found the promise of “attraction marketing”.

I could just sit in the ivory towers of Network Marketing and position myself as an “expert” in a field where I had not gained any practical real world experience by going out and getting some battle scars.

The truth, which I’m no longer afraid of, is I was deceiving myself. I had very little faith in my abilities go out and build this business. This realization is quite liberating.

So In 2011, I am going back to basics, and to follow the true principles of duplication, because this business is about “leading a large group of people who take simple actions consistently over a sustained period of time.”

And I am still developing the faith in my abilities to do that.

Developing faith is finding the truth that is within you.

Faith is what gets the engine of the subconscious mind working to attract the necessary resources and circumstances so that one’s dominating thoughts can be realized.

Developing faith is like magnetizing and iron nail. A magnetized nail will attract other nails around it through its magnetic force. It will also point North if you place the nail on a floating platform in water.

An unmagnetized iron nail is dumb and doesn’t do anything on its own accord.

My pledge to myself this year is that I continue magnetizing myself through personal development so that I point in the right direction and attract everything I need to realize my dreams.

Thank you to this Mentoring For Free mastermind for guiding me on my path of self growth.

To your MLM success,

Wayne Wu

Hi Wayne,

now you got me…MLM is about leading a large (!!!) group of people who take simple (!!!) actions over a sustained (!!!) period of time. For some reason, I tend to overcomplicate things…it’s about simplicity. Only simplicity is duplicatable. It’s not astonishing that we lose faith if we know that hardly anybody can do what we are doing.

Thanks for sharing a thought-provoking lesson plan !

Take care

Thanks Oliver.

Let’s never forget that we’re here to build a passive income asset, unless you’re just happy with a self employed job. And the key to creating a passive income asset is to keep it simple.

Thanks Devesh. Though I would question the use of the word “niche” We’re asset builders, not niche fillers.

Hi Wayne,

I totally understand the feeling of being afraid to reach out to people. Even though they might say yes or no I think I also fear the thought of just being rejected. It’s so easy for someone to just totally shut down your suggestions. However, I think I’m slowly starting to be better at reaching out now because I have this mentality that it couldn’t hurt to try. Also, when they do not like my offers/suggestions I ask them where else or what other field they may need help in and I try to provide them with solutions that way if I’m not getting their business in one vertical then I can get it in another.

Hi Mandy,

Thank you for your comment. It certainly doesn’t hurt to try. And it’s certainly a great opportunity for you to help in other ways. The thing about rejection is, when you truly discover who you really are as a person, you don’t fear rejection or criticism – that has helped me a lot.

Happy New Year Wayne!

The thing about faith, and I am talking about that unshakable faith in oneself, then nothing can stop you.

2011 is the year.

Hi Wayne!

Since we are also in the topic of faith, which to me is a very important virtue, I’d just like to share a simple prayer that was shared to me: “Dear God, please increase my faith.”

Sometimes, we take for granted how much faith we have in ourselves and we should always be vigilant that we don’t lose it.

Just like in a song, let’s keep the faith!

Wayne January 7, 2011 at 2:50 pm

Thanks for the great comment Elmar. Prayer really is a profound way to induce faith in one’s mind.

Hi Wayne, Finding the truth within you is key, as a matter of fact it requires a lot of soul searching. Having faith and confidence in yourself is another tough one, I still struggle with that from time to time.

Stepping outside of my comfort zone is always of leap of faith for me but as with anything, the more you do something the more confident you get and that helps me. You just have to remember to keep it going and not get complacent.
