To qualify prospects for our MLM business opportunities, we just need to get a simple “Yes” or “No” from them. To do that, we can tell them exactly what our business is in a very simple and effective way.
Where many network marketers go wrong is they are very obscure about what their business is when talking to people. They contort and duck and dive, so as to not give the prospect any negative impressions. This never works because a confused prospect always says “No!”

Hello Wayne,
I am with you especially when you said that we just have to keep it simple. If we make our explanation complicated and will try to explain everything in one sitting, we might push our clients away instead of enticing and convincing them. Let’s take note of the most important details that they need to know and focus on them to make it all simple and clear.
Thanks for the insights,

Thank you Ana. Simplicity builds trust, and builds it fast, especially in our home business industry.
Hey Wayne,
Great post and a great way of keeping it simple. I’m very guilty in going into detail about what you I do and yes, it had turned a lot of people off. This is a great simple way to get to the point and to see if our prospects are serious.

That’s it Sherman. When you go into unnecessary detail, that trust factor fades away because people trust things they can understand.
What a great reminder Wayne! I’ve definitely got to work on my “one-liner”.
This is actually quite a valid insight you have as well – network marketers are so indoctrinated by the negativity associated with the industry, that we almost subconsciously, always complicate things by trying to give too much detail in an attempt to counter the objections before they are made!
Keeping it as simple as you can is really the RIGHT way to do it.
Your guidance is appreciated – stay inspired!

You said it Michael – trying to counter the objections before they are made, which in turn, brings up the worst of the objections because that’s what we’re subconsciously communicating to the prospect.
I love the keep it simple concept you are so right if people are confused every time the answer is no.
My qualifying starts with finding out if they have a need for an opportunity. If they don’t have a need and realize they have a need they will say no.
In casual conversation I will find out if they are happy with their quality of life, job, free time, etc, see what they need and why. If they have a need I will suggest my business and offer to show them more.
This will also help me later when it’s time to get them to take action. Plus I am showing them that I care about them and what they need. Not just about putting them in my business.

Hey Rob. Nice to see you here. Quality of life, free time and great ways to know people quite intimately. And these definitely ARE great qualifiers to look for. And the great thing is you do genuinely care about them.
Hi Wayne
you make a crucial point that a confused mind says ‘no’. Little wonder that it is so easy to loose people.
There is certainly a lot of stuff to undo that I learnt in my earlier network marketing career.
best wishes

Hey Wayne
I have been to many events and spoken with many people who seemed to be trained in avoiding telling people what they really do.
I keep it simple : “I help local businesses get more customers”

Hi Wayne,
great to see you on video more often now. I agree with Charlie that you are absolutely right that a confused prospect will say no, most probably.
It’s highly important to keep it short and simple. It should be as easy as possible for the prospect to say “yes” or “no” – every clear answer is a progress.
Thanks for sharing your insights.
Take care

Yeah that’s a great way of putting it. Every clear answer is progress.
Hi Wayne,
I love how you put this really important topic across. The biggest challenge for most marketers is they talk too much. Keeping it simple and telling it as it is cuts through perpetuating the illusion that’s it not what it is.

Yeah. Too much talk, not enough listen. A great way to struggle in this business.
Hey Wayne,
Spot on! Like everyone has said, the key is to keep it short and simple. There is no need to overload your prospects with too much information information.
If they want to know more, refer them to the relevant business sites and let them make their own decisions.
Thanks for sharing this.

Yeah, that’s a great point Mavis. You should have 3rd party tools to do the telling and selling for you. Your job in MLM is to be a pointer, not a know-it-all about the business.
Hi Wayne,
The certainly have our own jargon in the network marketing industry and cutting to the chase in a real person’s language is an important thing to remember, so that people can relate to what we’re saying. Putting it in the way that shares the benefit is a great tip to remember too!
Great video!

Hey Wayne,
You’re right, creating confusion is never a good idea. No need to leave someone scratching their head and feeling as if you have something to hide.
When asked, it’s super important to have an answer ready. Any hesitation, or long elaborate answer can quickly lose someone’s trust.
Thanks for the great video on an important topic!

Wayne,
This is a great video, I have to agree that keeping it simple is the best way to go because as you said someone who is confused will say no.
A simple answer will help to keep things clear and it will also be more likely to get them interested than throwing a bunch of information at them.
Thanks,
Stacy
