Friday, November 13, 2009, The Profitable Networker was born from my very own bedroom to the world with no announcement, no fanfare – typifying the grassroots marketing efforts of a generation of up and coming network marketers.
Day 1: 1 blog post and ZERO visitors.
Two hundred and two days later, it’s a completely different story. Through consistent daily actions, I’m honoured to now have one of the leading network marketing blogs.
Blogging works!
There’s no doubt about it.
In the relatively short time I’ve been doing this, I’ve met some amazing people, I’ve been able to help build and contribute to communities of up and coming MLM bloggers and most importantly…
I’ve sponsored some fantastic people into my network marketing opportunity, who are just as hungry for success as I am.
The Profitable Networker is my second attempt at building a business blog. The one and only difference between this and my previous attempt is consistency.
About year ago, when I first started to blog, I just dreaded the thought of writing. I didn’t want to write and I just didn’t believe you needed to post every day to become a successful blogger. I thought just one post every 2 weeks was enough!
I was looking for breakthrough – a magic keyword, a magic EzineArticles.com article submission, a magic headline, backlink, anything that would give me that quantum leap I was looking for.
Well guess what, there is NONE!
For me, blogging was quickly turning into something that promised a lot but delivered little… until I witnessed something that blew me out of the water.
In September 2009, the top contestants of a Magnetic Sponsoring contest was announced. The winner was David Wood. Never heard of the guy before, so I decided to check him out.
To my amazement he told in his story that had only been marketing online for 3 to 4 months, shooting right past snails like me who had been struggling with it for about a year.
It just screamed to me “TAKE MASSIVE CONSISTENT ACTION!”
So I ate my humble pie, pulled my finger out, and got to work. To date, I’ve blogged on average once every second day and now the results speak for themselves.
The Secret To Success…
The secret to success is THERE IS NO SECRET. In his book The Slight Edge, Jeff Olson quotes many, many times…
“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal”
In other words, the fun is all in the journey. The consistent, sometimes seemingly insignificant efforts, all compound over time to gradually materialize your vision. Every little effort counts.
Do not get emotionally attached to the outcome, rather get emotionally attached to the daily activity so that it becomes a habit, and you feel uncomfortable if you don’t do it.

Some Outstanding Posts…
Just a few days ago, my friend Dwayne Huggins celebrated his Century, and he did so by sharing some of his key posts. Being as original as I am, I thought I would do exactly the same…
1. A Sad, But Often True Story of Network Marketing
This was the very first article on this blog and it got the ball rolling in a big way. I submitted it to BetterNetworker.com and to my surprise and delight, it was featured in a Best of Better Networker email. In fact, it generated quite a lot of discussion and debate over there, and gave me my initial surge of traffic here.
2. How Does a 30 Year Old Debt Free MLM Company Go Bankrupt?
So far, my most visited post to date. Obviously controversial in nature – I have received some less than pleasant emails because of it – but hey, I’m not here to please everybody. It’s my best performing article in terms of SEO, it still ranks highly for the search engine term “Arbonne Bankruptcy”, and gets a consistent 10 clicks a day. It was a total fluke, but this is my benchmark for SEO.
3. Why I Believe Network Marketing Has A Bright Future
My favourite post so far, because it’s my way of giving the finger to the values of common society, and to MLM nay-sayers. Network marketing is the best chance for the little guy, the underdog with a dogged determination to get rich and free themselves of the financial bondage of the 20th Century.
4. Need Money? Then DON’T Get Into Network Marketing!
Inspired by my no nonsense mentor, Michael Dlouhy, this recent post has generated me the most amount of interest in the least amount of time. I’d love to be able to do more of that.
5. 5 Magic Words That Will Get You A LOT More “Yes’s”!
This post is on one of my favourite topics: what to say and what to do. What to say and what to do was very much missing in the early stages my network marketing career. I know how big a difference skills can make to one’s network marketing career. Always keep sharping that axe!
Onward and Upward!…
I just can’t wait till post number 200 and be able to reflect back after another 6 months. This has been an awesome journey for me, and I won’t be stopping any time soon.
It’s very important to be yourself and be true to yourself when doing business. Blogging has allowed me to do just that.
Thank you to all of my readers, fellow bloggers, my wonderful team for all of your support. I’m grateful to you all.
See you ALL at the top!
To your MLM success,
Wayne Wu

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the kind words my friend. I’ve got to thank all of my visitors and contributors for that diminishing Alexa score. I’d love to get it below 150,000!
¡Felicidades mi amigo! I got to say that this site changed the course of my life. And I’m not exaggerating. I remember the night, it was really late but I had some questions that needed an answer. Probably I wouldn’t be involved in MLM as I’m writing down this comment if I didn’t run into the profitablenetworker.com. I read your top three key posts that night. I got exactly what I needed. I felt like having a conversation with a long time friend that was explaining MLM issues. I’m proud to consider myself fortunate because I’ve not only found the training system and the proper business to build my future, the best proffit has been your friendship. Thanks a lot and God bless you for bringing out the best of me.
My kindest regards and best wishes (100′s and 100′s of posts)

That’s so helpful Wayne. I like the part that you shouldn’t get attached to the outcome but rather the habit of taking action daily which makes you uncomfortable if you haven’t done it. I couldn’t understand this a few months ago and no I absolutely do, it is all about consistent daily action for a worthy ideal.
