April 2010

You know, there are some days in this business of network marketing that just seem like a blur.

You’ve been on the phone ALL DAY with prospects, with your uplines, and with your team members. You’ve had so many inputs that you are just worn out. It’s a necessary price to pay, I guess.

Today was my turn to have one of those. I literally can’t think of anything to write, right now. But I still feel compelled to share something with the world.

So I thought I would share one of my favourite movie scenes. It’s from “The Pursuit of Happyness”. I couldn’t help but feel emotional when I first saw this. Check it out… [click to continue…]

A short while ago, I was chit chatting with a friend of a friend at a party. A really cool guy, just completed a Ph.D! But… could NOT land a job.

So he decided to apply for some labour jobs stacking shelves at a supermarket while he waited for a position to become available.

Can you imagine that? A Ph.D. graduate working at a supermarket??!! There is something very wrong with that picture.

This is exactly what the industrial age education complex has trained every human to do. Go to school, get a degree, and then get a J.O.B.

It’s crystal clear to me now. We’ve never been truly taught HOW to think, only WHAT to think. Think about that… [click to continue…]

Would it be okay if for every 25 people you spoke to about your business opportunity, 20 of them asked you for more information about it?

Yes it would?… Good!

Pay close attention, because we’re going to explore some fundamental reasons why prospects say “No!”

In a previous post, I wrote about the power of the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind as a BIG job to do – keep us alive!

The conscious mind’s job is to THINK!

It’s the one that solves complex algebra problems. It’s the one that learns new skills, like riding a bike for the first time, or setting up a blog for the first time. It’s the one that has to deal with these frustrating situations and come up with a solution. [click to continue…]

Whenever I hear someone say “This is a business of duplication”, I cringe, because it reminds me so much of my early days as a struggling newbie.

In my first MLM company, what I and everybody else was taught to duplicate was…

  1. Make a list of friends and family
  2. Invite them to a business preview meeting
  3. Follow up and give them a CD and other business tools
  4. Hope they get really excited…

That was the “duplicable” system they had in this company (an MLM giant, mind you). It just didn’t duplicate too well for most people involved. [click to continue…]

I’ve read from a lot of self help authors that success in 90% mindset and only 10% strategy. Many of them have said we can change our lives just by changing our thoughts.

There’s no doubt about the mental transformations that are required for success. In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill dedicates an entire chapter to the power of the subconscious mind.

Everything we have on the outside, our possessions, the amount of money we have in our bank accounts, our friends, and everything we do and say are a direct reflection of who we are on the inside.

People will blame external events, circumstances and other people for what happens to them, but their reality is a manifestation of their own thoughts.

And therefore, in order change our reality, we have to change our thoughts. [click to continue…]

If you want to get ahead in this business, you’re best to talk to people who already believe in network marketing.

In my last post on attracting MLM leads, I briefly talked about target marketing and why your best prospects are other network marketers.

People who believe in network marketing are not going to question you, chastise you, or be negative toward you for building a home based business.

If anything, they are just as committed to their own personal development, and learning new skills to build their business. They are the right group of people for you to “hang out” with.

Actually, most of them are looking for answers on how to become more successful in their own business, and this is where you can get their attention. [click to continue…]
